Shek Wing Ki "Living in a Dollhouse"

ARS Tarbekunstigalerii 19.12.202431.01.2025

Exhibition opening 19.12 at 18.00. Thursday

Shek Wing Ki was born and raised in Hong Kong, and is currently based in Tallinn.

She is fond of the idea of household vanity and she is currently working in themes of frames and dollhouses. Ordinary domestic objects as subjects, weaving a dreamscape where an ideal self is projected. By polishing and layering complexity, she extracts reality and dreams away to futility.

She will be showcasing some ceramic works produced during her artist residency in ARS Keraamikakeskus lasts until February 2025. Her work incorporate nature's beauty of Estonia and local's living by small fragments into small and delicate miniatures.

She graduated from Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University in 2019 and launched Still Ceramics in 2020 as a co-founder.
