Punctum Gallery 4.09.–02.11.2025
Opening 3rd of September at 6pm
Artists Kate Cooper, Cloe Jancis, Johanna Mudist, Maarja Mäemets, Terje Ojaver, and Sirje Runge examine the ideal of femininity as a cultural construct and trace its shifting meanings over time.
Inspired by N. K. Jemisin’s sci-fi trilogy The Broken Earth, the exhibition centers on the journey of an older woman in a collapsing world—an embodiment of resistance to systemic subjugation. Through science fiction, folklore, literature, humor, and critiques of consumer culture, the body emerges as a site where norms, expectations, and defiance converge.
