"Midrange"

ARS Project Space 6.-8.08.2020

"Midrange" is an participatory performance created by Jaanika Arum and Sten Saarits presented on three consecutive evenings at the ARS project space. The work offers a collective audiovisual experience driven by heartbeats recorded from a person from the audience. Delicately and organically, the volunteer's pulse becomes the centerpiece of the work, which guides an improvised soundscape shaped by algorithms and is supported by vocal improvisations by musician Egle Ehtjen. The resulting sound composition is accompanied by diverse videosculptures. The heartbeats by members of the audience will be collected by Nele Ernits M.D. We would like to cordially invite you to take part of the performances and associated evening events.

There is no entrance fee, however we are collecting voluntary donations for the Tartu University Hospital Children's Foundation for the treatment of heart diseases. The cash donation boxes are situated at the entrance. We would like to thank everyone for their support.
